Just saying hello
Hi everyone , thought I would introduce myself . My name is Todd , I am 54 years old and 2 months ago I received a wonderful gift of a liver transplant . My liver failed on August 14 of last year due to AIC as a result , I spent 10 days in the hospital and barely made it . It was an absolutely horrible experience as many of you knowππ» I bounced back and fourth in and out of the hospital with various infections ( mostly E-Coli) . Initially was referred to UCSF and spent the next 11 months checking all the boxes for them but didn’t have a very good experience with them . I decided to call Stanford and long story short , within 2 months did all the required testing ,got listed and 2 weeks later got the most nerve racking call I’ve ever got . π€£ very blessed . I was very lucky to have my wife and daughters take such wonderful care of my ( it was a lot) . Here I am 2 months post LVT and doing well β€οΈπ but very impatient to be active again .
What a wonder place for people to come togetherππ»
Todd

Hi Todd, welcome to the club. I’m 5 1/2 months post living donor liver transplant. I’m in Maryland. Take it easy, I’m impatient, too. Everytime I challenge my body it gets back to with a. Big fat ‘nope, not yet.’
This is a good place of like minded, good souls.
Happy healing,
Andreas

very happy things worked out and you got the transplant!
I'm coming up in 2 weeks on a Whole Year since my operation, I was hospitalized for a few months, it was bad...first week was a nightmarish fever dream
I got woken up in the middle of the night that they got the liver and was gonna get me prepped. it was already a stressful night for my surgeon, he was in the middle of back to back surgeries
I miss my nurse Marie, so many great conversations and she was very sweet
