Why is it so hard to stick with health goals?

We're 2 weeks into 2026 and it's likely more than half of people have already given up on the healthy resolutions they set on January 1st. The fact is, sticking with health goals, no matter how important we understand them to be, is hard.

Coming up on Tuesday 1/20/26, I'm leading a webinar on setting and achieving health goals. I would love to know if you have questions or examples ahead of the webinar that I can have in mind during the presentation and Q&A.

Whether you are struggling to keep on top of your goals or you're a seasoned goal-achieving expert, I'm hoping you join the conversation on Tuesday January 20th. Register here: https://www.transplantlyfe.com/webinars

I am quite active but for some reason I can never stick to consistent exercise. I would love to increase my muscle mass and build up cardiovascular endurance. That's the goal I am bringing with me and can hopefully approach with new knowledge this year 🤗

I KNOW I need to lose the "transplant weight" - I can't blame my meds forever. 😂 or the "baby weight" - geeze, the babies are in their late 20's now. But finding that motivation, still eludes me. The desire is there but...

I have kept my journaling and a doodle prompt a day goal, I am reading more, I just need to begin with one step, one extra workout, one lost pound, and that might ignite the motivational fire? Looking forward to the recording, since I napped the afternoon away! 😎

I love the way this was broken down! I remember once sitting in a goal setting workshop and it was just "imagine where you want to be in 10 years, now go do that"

And it was like my brain short circuited. I was pre transplant and the only thing I could think of is I wanted to be alive in 10 years. Ever since then the idea of setting goals has felt overwhelming, or I would start and stick with it only until I got sick, or life happened and I was forced to switch it up. This has given me the confidence that maybe I can set goals, and find ways to adapt them to whatever life throws at me.

I can't wait to continue this discussion in support groups next week!
